Buffet catering for small groups for corporate events

Im working in the Central Business District of Singapore, it is pretty hard to find good quality luncheons at affordable price. It will be more challenging to organise luncheons for corporate events. Though options are plenty in the business district, office workers like myself have to face long queues and walking under the hot afternoon sun to satisfy the hungry monsters in us, and all in a short lunchbreak of 1 to 1.5h!
Not to mention on occasions when there are new colleagues onboard, colleagues leaving, sales team performing beyond target, and the bosses call for a mini-celebration at nearby eateries! Not a big deal right, you might say? But not when the bosses delegate this down to YOU! Of course, this is not really a big problem if budget is never an issue to begin with. However, this is not always the case! A meagre budget is only normally set aside for such occasions. And to the bosses, all they have ever wanted for such occasions are perceived team bonding, good company culture, work-life balance and so on…and all at the expense of the organiser who has to get it done right with again, that meagre budget!
So, a colleague of mine was tasked with this important assignment of arranging a farewell party for a colleague of 3years in the organisation. Ok, guess what? The allocated budget was $300 for a so call party of 14. That works out to be about $21 per person. Not too bad, you might say. But hey, $21 per pax is not going to get you a fabulous party! Unless you are going to do one in the hawker centres?
Colleague of mine, Shawn came seeking for my suggestions right after he had gotten this ‘assignment’ that particular day. Seriously, with this kind of budget, we are not going to any of the restaurants nearby, hawkers are out too, given that we have to take into consideration the feelings of our colleague who’s leaving the company.
Hence, we did a quick google search on mini celebrations to find out more! The objective was to find nearby eateries that are able to accommodate our numbers, having a conducive environment and all in that busy lunch hour! We chanced upon few caterers as well during the search but most have a minimum order for 20pax and above.
With a stroke of luck, Shawn chanced upon a caterer offering mini-celebrations selections, with the going at only 10pax minimum!
Did few more searches and we settled with Le Xin Catering and yes, this’s the one with only a minimum order of 10pax under their ‘Mini-Celebrations’ category.
Ordered was placed online with the confirmation coming in fast as well. No further correspondence with the caterer required. Good for us, we thought. Nobody likes to waste such time doing all the liaising, right?
Day came and the food was packed in big beautiful bento boxes of our selections. Selections can be viewed here for mini buffet delivery in Singapore and they offer high tea buffet as well.

It’s our very first ordering from this caterer, and many of our colleagues have not heard of them as compared to the ‘big names’. But we are not the least disappointed with the quality! In fact, the food quality and taste exceeded far beyond our expectations and Shawn did it with a cost of only $220 for buffet delivery in Singapore! Leaving much for a big farewell balloon, where every colleague penned down their thoughts for our farewell colleague and most importantly, the boss still got back some change at the end of the day! Then I realised that many of our co-workers have ordered from Le Xin Catering before. They are one of the more established brands for buffet delivery in Singapore and high tea catering as well. We will try their high tea catering for 30 pax soon.  And many are their clients for tingkat, they are one of the cheapest tingkat in Singapore.
