What to look out for when planning for an event catering

Image
The past 2 years had been terrible with the in-person restrictions and dining-in measures in place for the F&B industry. However, things should look up for the year 2022 as the vast majority of the populace have been inoculated against the covid-virus, and with the latest omicron variant posing no serious threats to vaccinated individuals based on recent reports. For 2022, we’d believe that most individuals will experience some significant events in their life journey as well. Planning for such significant events is nevertheless time-consuming when you strive to make them memorable! As in all kinds of planned events, there is one item that you can’t omit from your list, Food! And sadly, this is also one of the trickiest parts of your list. There are simply too many things to consider when choosing the perfect caterer for your event. Quality of food, presentation, food hygiene and safety, and of course cost! There are many mistakes that people made through the course of cateri...

Catering Trends for 2022

Image
Singapore catering industry has seen significant changes over the decades as along with demographics changes, consumers’ preference to higher disposable incomes per household. From where it used to be catering for events such as business seminars and luncheons, house-warming, baby showers to current demands for a bespoke wedding reception,  Tingkat , schools, senior living facilities and hospitals, and even to just a simple house gathering amongst close friends & relatives are some of the current occasions where organisations and individuals will give thoughts to engaging a caterer. In the current pandemic situation where government restriction measures are still in place, dining out with family members and close friends has turned out to be a luxury in the past 18 months. However, this is not to say that you can’t have such gatherings in your own home, as long it stays within the mandated numbers. In fact, you can pamper yourself by getting caterers to solve the food pr...

Singapore catering industry has seen significant changes over the decades as along with demographics changes, consumers’ preference to higher disposable incomes per household. From where it used to be  buffet catering  for events such as business seminars and luncheons, ‘house-warming’, ‘baby showers’ to current demands for a bespoke wedding reception, ‘ Tingkat ’, schools, senior living facilities and hospitals, and even to just a simple house gathering amongst close friends & relatives are some of the current occasions where organisations and individuals will give thoughts to engaging a caterer. This is especially true with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic where social distancing measures and travel restrictions are in place. Outside dining at restaurants has taken a heavy toll due to the restrictions and safety measures in place since the start of the pandemic. Buffet or Buffet Catering?

Image
You may have heard that while buffets are really popular among Asians, Asians are also one of the top contributors to food waste. The whole idea of buffet has been tainted by this poor reception that when everyone thinks about buffet, it’s always going to be about the “all-you-can-eat” buffet. However, buffet is not about that. What people have been misunderstanding for years is that buffet is about self-serving meals that you and I can collect at any pace, without the need for servers or waiters. In fact, we are going to talk about buffet catering services. The horrors and amount of food wastage can be seen at restaurants but what about a catered buffet? Do we also waste the same amount of food? Fortunately, we don’t! Those who have tried ordering  buffet catering  will know that it is required to send in the number of pax, you will be serving for that buffet lunch or dinner. Because based on the number of pax you send in, the catering service will determine how much f...

Mini buffet catering for small groups party

Image
Having to host and prepare food for a party is never easy. There are a lot of factors to take into consideration like dietary preferences, logistics, costs, time and even space. If you are looking to host a simple dinner for a group of 15, what can you possibly do? While there are a lot of special and unique solutions, we are going to shed some light on this topic. For a dinner setting with friends and families, you can always have a potluck dinner. A potluck dinner is where everyone brings in a dish or food from their own and contribute it to the dinner table. This is especially easy to do because the preparation time can be as short as an hour. Of course, you have to make sure that whatever you bring is enough for everyone present. Moreover, if you are personally cooking it, this is also time to show off your skills. Bonding over a potluck dinner can be very smooth as well, as there will be minimal movement from the kitchen to the table as the foods are all already there. As th...

Plan your party using buffet catering

Image
When it comes to a party, no one like a fixed routine or a schedule. “Be here at 7 for dinner!” That would be a total turn-off, isn’t it? But instead, “Food will be served 7 onwards”, gives you more room and leeway to turn up slightly later than 7 and still expect the food to be served. To do that,  buffet catering   would be the perfect solution to such a scenario. What so great is that buffet catering gives us the freedom of when to eat and what to eat. As long as the food is available, you don’t have to worry about it going anywhere. If your party is a casual one, buffet caterings can help lighten the mood. Not every party has to be formal and not every meal has to be formal as well. Having everyone seated at the same time, and getting the same food served is now becoming a chore. A party is where people retreat to get some time off and to relax. Buffet caterings can offer such respite to guests and hosts alike. Getting restless at the table entertaining people? Head...

Christmas Catering

Image
Christmas is just round the corner. Most of the people are starting to make plans for the Christmas celebrations despite this covid19 situation. However, we still need to abide by the law on having small group gathering only. So how do we plan for this? Who are the attendees of this party? That’s probably the 1st question that came to our mind. After all, we are only limited to 5 pax in a group now.  Next question will be, where is the celebration going to be held? Many people are planning for a hotel staycation since we are not able to travel, so probably staying in the hotel for 1 or 2 nights might give u the feel of travelling to nearby countries. Alternatively, will be to dine out, and probably hang around somewhere after dinner. Lastly, which is a more popular choice is to gather at a friend or relative house for a closed-door party so that including the hosts themselves, we can cater for another 5 more pax of guests. After deciding a venue, food will come in place as mos...
